For those who want to sign up for the previous training sessions and participate in the opening event in November, they can already do so.
The CABA Ministry of Culture, through the Impulso Cultural platform, announced the return of a new edition of the Buenos Aires International Music Fair (BAFIM): the great music industry event that will take place from 16 to 19 of November.
Consolidated as one of the leading fairs in the region, it reaches its 13th edition with a proposal that focuses on new trends, diversity, innovation, live music and industry at the federal and regional levels in an articulated work between the public and private sectors.
The calls will be opened progressively starting this Tuesday, the 2nd, for those who want to participate in the sections in the face-to-face event in November and in the previous virtual training sessions.
During the launch, the Minister of Culture of CABA, Enrique Avogadro, stated: “BAFIM has always accompanied the music industry because it is a State policy that has continuity over time and contributes to developing the sector. We are very proud to present this new edition and continue to reaffirm our commitment to continue working together with one of the most powerful cultural industries in our country”.
“Today there is a spirit of reunion with a sector that went through a lot in the pandemic and that is re-emerging strongly, demonstrating the resilience that talent has in our country,” he recalled.
For her part, the general director of Cultural and Creative Development, Mora Scillamá, stated: “At Impulso Cultural, through its different programs such as BAFIM, BAMúsica, in addition to the Metropolitan Fund and Patronage, we contemplate specific financing lines for the promotion of music”.
“In the last year, we invested more than 240 million pesos for the sector, with the aim of contributing to the development of the music industry in the City. In this sense, one of the axes that we propose in this new edition of the International Music Fair is diversity and for that we prepare activities for the visibility of women and dissidence in the music industry, which
It includes articulations with great actors in this theme such as Fem Market Noise and Amplify, the Mutek and British Council program for the visibility of women and dissidence in digital art. We are so excited for what is to come!” she added.
BAFIM functions as an export and link platform for music in Latin America. Through joint work between the public and private sectors, it promotes meetings between professionals in the field to discuss current events in the industry and generate business opportunities. At the same time, it is an invitation to the public to learn about the latest musical news and enjoy the local artistic offer.
This edition will feature live shows by bands and soloists from all over the country; face-to-face and virtual spaces for bonding, networking and pitching between industry professionals, with the presence of national and international guests; and, through Impulso Digital, a campus section through which independent projects from all over the country will receive personalized advice from industry leaders and access professional content to study virtually synchronously.
Also, an agenda of meetings, training and programs dedicated to the visibility and inclusion of women and dissidence in the Argentine music sector will be developed. And the “Mercadito”: a fair for records, vinyl, instruments and music books, with listening posts to learn about the latest releases, labels and artists.
