Officials from the secretariats of Water Resources, Energy and Mining, the Provincial Entity of the Colorado River (EPRC) and the Municipality of 25th May toured, together with representatives of the company INVAP, the main channel of the Colorado River. The activity is framed in the study of the use of natural resources for the generation of energy with renewable sources.
In this way, the field work of the consultancy that is in charge of the INVAP company and financed by the Federal Investment Council (CFI) began to be carried out, in order to evaluate the conditions of energy generation through renewable sources ( solar, wind and hydro) in the town of 25th May, and will include the raising of a proposal for the management of hybrid electrical microgrids with autonomous operation, low maintenance and the possibility of remote monitoring.
The day began at the offices of the Provincial Entity of the Colorado River and continued with a tour of the main channel that began in Puente Dique up to the Los Divisaderos facilities in order to survey more accurately the infrastructure of these works and their possibilities prior to the completion of the irrigation closed period.
The scope of the study includes the conceptual engineering corresponding to the technology to be used for the best energy use of the main channel, a study of the electricity demand in the area and the design of a micro generation network.
