Today, women are excelling in each and every sector. If we talk about dairy sector, women are trying to participate and make their footprint largely. Therefore, National commission for Women has come with a program to foster women in daily sector and to make then financially and socially independent.

NCW has signed an agreement with various agriculture universities across India to collaborate in the field of dairy farming for rural women to empower them in different aspects by identifying them.

Rural women will be provided training with a country-wide training and capacity building programme for dairy farming and other allied activities. The different aspects of training will be consisted of quality enhancement, value addition, self-life increment of produce, packaging and marketing of the products and many more.

Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Science, Hisar, Haryana in collaboration with Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission organized first programme for women Self Help Groups (SHG) on ‘Value Added Dairy products’ under the project.

NCW chairman Rekha Sharma said that every woman needs to be financially independent. The main aim of the program is to empower women to achieve financial independence by training them in various aspects of the Dairy sector and further encourage them to enhance their business and to give opportunities of entrepreneurship.

NCW will also work on encouraging women in skill development to become dairy entrepreneurs. NCW aims to create sustainable development in Dairy and allied sectors of the country.
