Two Months After the Completion of the 2022 Census, Will Begin to Collect From Tuesday

Two months after the completion of the 2022 Census, the national government announced that between Tuesday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 20, the payment to the 750,000 census takers who participated in the operation will be completed.

In the last few hours it had been announced that the workers would be paid from Monday, but the INDEC confirmed that today it received the payment from the Treasury and that now the process that Banco Nación must carry out remains, so the payment date is postponed by one day. .

Due to the delay , the census remuneration lost more than 10 points of purchasing power given the accumulated inflation since the day the census was carried out.

The non-remunerative sums of the census structure of Catamarca, Chaco, Salta, San Luis and Tucumán had been transferred on June 16.

The INDEC had stated that the delay was due to the fact that many of the census takers did not have authorized bank accounts , however with the confirmation of the accreditation of the money it became clear that it was a problem of lack of funds.

The promised remunerations are: Fraction Chief $50,000, Assistant Fraction Chief $23,000, Radio Chief $13,000, Urban Census taker $6,000, Rural Census taker category 1 $8,500, Rural Census taker category 2 $12,000, Rural Census taker category 3 $15,000 and Substitute Census taker $1,500.

The delay caused several provinces to propose alternative payment schemes, including San Juan whose governor, Sergio Uñac , offered the funds to pay those who worked in his district.
